Rashid Calls For Support For Satellites

The minister of state in charge of Education, Youth and Sports, Hon. Rashid Bawa has described as ridiculous notion by a section of Ghanaians that the task ahead of Black Satellites is insurmountable. ?The task ahead of us is a Herculean one but certainly not insurmountable?, he noted.

The affable minister made this observation when Space FM called on him to find out the role his ministry is playing to ensure a resounding victory for the nation in the Sunday?s crucial qualifier against our Ivorian counterparts. He said the boys are highly motivated extrinsically and intrinsically to deliver the goods on Sunday. ?with the right chemistry and perhaps little luck, the boys would achieve good results?, he stressed.

Hon. Bawa called for nothing but massive support of all Ghanaians for the team, describing the Sunday?s tie as do or die affair.

In a related development, a member of the Black Satellites management committee, Kwame Ntow-Fiako has called on the playing body and the technical handlers of the team to remain focused as they come face-to- face with their Ivorian counterparts. According to Lawyer Fiakor, though the Ivorian played some good football in the leg encounter, the Satellites are equally capable of shocking then at their own backyard.

Coach Oti Akenten and his technical team have been striving for the right strategy to overturn the painful defeat inflicted on the team at Accra Sports Stadium a couple of weeks ago. The Ghanaian teams thus start the Abidjan game with a goal deficit and would only qualify for the next African Youth Championship scheduled for Benin with a win of more than a goal margin.
