Black Stars Rashid Sumaila has urged his former clubs Ebusua Dwarfs and Asante Kotoko to go for wins in their Ghana Premier Leagues on Sunday.
The 20-year-old Ghana center-back has been closely following the Ghanaian top-tier league since his move to the South African Premier League from Kotoko in January.
“I wish my Darling clubs Dwarfs and Kotoko all the best as they go in today’s Ghana Premier League,” he tweeted.
Kotoko have opened a four-point lead at the top of the section and are at the Tema Astroturf pitch on Sunday afternoon’s kick-off against Amidaus Professionals who appointed a new technical head during the week.
Dwarfs have slipped down and are just two places above the relegation zone and must win against Hearts of Oak in Cape Coast to lift themselves from the bottom half of the table.
Sumaila spent a season loan spell with Kotoko from Dwarfs last season and helped them to lift the Ghana Premier League title.
Sumaila who played an influential role in Ghana’s qualification to the 2014 World Cup, has established himself as a defensive force in the South African Premier Soccer League helping mamelodi Sundowns to the summit of the league table.
