Ghana striker David Accam is confident he can leapfrog Lasse Vibe in the goal king race after he bagged another brace for Helsingborg last Friday.
The 23-year-old highlighted his superior goal scoring prowess for the Swedish side in their 2-1 win over Mjallby.
The gifted attacker stole the limelight again with a performance which has hogged the headlines in the European country.
The Ghanaian international has now bagged 12 goals, just two shy of leading scorer and IFK Göteborg striker Lasse Vibe but remains confident he can go past him.
“A very important victory because it is still in the ground and we needed three points,” he said. “All gave their utmost for the team and I’m glad we got three points.
“I have now scored 12 goals and the leading contender has 14 but everything is possible.
“Of course I want to end the season as the highest scorer but we have to wait and see.”
Accam has been recalled into the Black Stars ahead of next month’s African Cup of Nations double header against Uganda and Togo in the race to the 2015 Nations Cup in Morocco.
