The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has appointed Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) referee Joseph O. Lamptey as the center man for the Confederations Cup competition game between AS Real of Mali and Cotonsport of Cameroon.
The match, fixed for Sunday, August 24 in Mali, will have Salifu Malik Alidu and David Laryea as assistants one and two, with referee Seidu Bomison acting as the fourth referee.
The four referees, who have been regular figures on the international scene are expected to fly out of the country on Friday, August 23, for the crucial game.
Lamptey, has been the nation’s number one referee over the past years and has officiated in several high profile matches both on the local and international scene.
He was among the elite referees who officiated the last Championship of African Nations (CHAN) in South Africa.
