Sunyani, (B/A) Sept. 28, GNA - Two goals scored by Doreen Awuah gave Reformers of Brong-Ahafo Region a sweet victory over Tamale Ghatel Ladies from the Northern Region in the 2010 Group "A" Northern Zone Women's Football Championship played at the Liberation Barracks Park in Sunyani.
In another encounter at the same venue, Sharp Arrows from Upper East had a narrow 2-1 win against Uplanders from Upper West Region. Future Ladies of Brong-Ahafo Region defeated Northern Region's Lepo Ladies 2-1 in their Group "B" encounter at the Coronation Park, Sunyani. Lydia Ameyaw scored both goals for Future Ladies while Abdul Rahman Fatia managed to get the consolation goal for Lepo Ladies. Ghatel Ladies from Upper East Region beat Inter Continental, also from Upper East Region 2-0 in the same group. Meanwhile, Future Ladies from Brong-Ahafo will meet Ghatel Ladies of Northern Region at the Coronation Park to determine which of the two sides will meet Reformers of Brong-Ahafo in the final match of the competition.
At the end of the elimination series, Future Ladies and Ghatel Ladies clocked seven points and three goals each, hence the need for them to meet for the decider to determine the over-all champion Club in the Northern zone. The champion and runners-up in the zone will meet their other representative sides in Accra for the next stage of the championship. 28 Sept. 10
