Richard Mpong has compounded Asante Kotoko’s post season miseries by handing in a transfer request after becoming increasingly unhappy throughout the Porcupines season, Sports Crusader can confirm.
The attacking midfielder, who moved from Medeama SC three season ago, has had a tough season at the Baba Yara Stadium and it seems as though Mpong is hunting a move to another club.
David Duncan’s side have been rocked by several negative issues in and after the season and Mpong who was a key member of the team was rarely fielded under Duncan, and looks like he has now decided to try his luck at another club.
The 26-year-old played a paltry of league games for The Porcupines this season, and has said that his frustration has forced him to seek a move away from the club he loves, especially after being accused by the club’s fans of being a K.K Sarpong ally.
His form throughout this season has been clearly affected by off the field problems, with injuries, accusations of non-commitment and burglary on his house.
It remains unclear where his next destination will be, but Sports Crusader understands Aduana Stars are closely monitoring the situation.
