Baah-Nuako making the presentation
Title sponsors of the 2016 Sheikh Sahrubutu Ramadan Cup, Royal Bank, will cushion the competition with GHC30,000.00, the Senior Vice President in charge of Reseach, Marketing and Co-operate Affairs Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh has confirmed.
Twenty thousand (GHC20,000) of the amount will be given to the organizers for the organization of the event while the remaining ten thousand (GHC10,000) will be used by the bank to support in publicity, branding and other activities before, during and after the event.
This is the first time the competition is receiving such a sponsorship and organizers expressed gratitude at the gesture by the bank.
Speaking at the event during the official launch at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, Dr. Kwame Baah-Nuakoh assured the organizers and participants that his outfit sees the act of supporting the event as part of their Co-operate Social Responsibility activities.
“As part of our Co-operate Social Responsibility, we support health and sanitation, education and sports. So we see it as a responsibility to support this noble course.
“Royal Bank wish to inform the organizers and participants of this year’s Ramadan Cup that we will support the event with GHC20,000 in cash and another GHC10,000 in other ventures to make the event a successful one,” Dr. Baah-Nuakoh said.
This year’s Ramadan Cup will see a rise in the number of communities from nine to twelve.
The competition kicks off on the 9th of July at the Kotobabi Wembley with Ashiaman expected to defend their championship status.
