The Assistant Coach of the Black Satellites Prince Owusu has been asked to step aside, confirming earlier Goal.com Ghana reports.
The former Nania FC coach replaced C.K Akunnor last year in an interim capacity and partnered former coach Maxwell Konadu to qualify Ghana to this year’s Africa Youth championships which gets underway on March 16.
Owusu has had stints with Prampram Mighty Royals, Nania FC and Tema Youth.
According to Goal.com Ghana sources, the GFA Executive Committee made the decision on Thursday and have conveyed the information to the coach.
It would be recalled that the Coaches Association of Ghana protested against Owusu’s appointment last year but the Ghana FA kept faith in him.
Owusu is owed per diem and allowances by the FA having worked for over eight months without salary.
Former Ghana international Yaw Preko who partnered Orlando Wellington in 2011 when Ghana failed to progress from the group stages in that tournament has been given the nod to partner coach Sellas Tetteh as reported by Goal.com Ghana in December last year.
The Black Satellites will embark on a two-week training tour of Italy next week to prepare for the competition.
