Satellites leave for Angola for a four-nation tourney

Accra, Aug 22, GNA - The national under-21 team, the Black Stars on Sunday left Accra for Luanda, Angola to participate in a four-nation tournament dubbed "Tourney FESA Cup Patrono 2005". The tournament, according to information gathered by the GNA Sports from the secretariat of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) will last for seven days and the team is expected back in Ghana in early September.

The contingent made up of 18 players and eight officials left for the tournament, which has other participants as Cameroon, Senegal and the host nation, Angola.

Among the players who made the trip are Patrick Antwi, Abubakari Suleman, Francis Mantey, Bawa Mumuni, Felix Baffoe, Joseph Tackie, Rahim Ayew, Fredrick Asante-Akoto, Kofi Danquah, Seth Nsiah Tawiah, Nortey Diago, Mark Ansah and Paa Kwesi Sam.

The rest are Gabriel Kwateng, Nathaniel Addo, Shadrack Dodzie, Alex Agorbia and Prince Sarfo.

Among the officials who made the trip are Kwame Ntow Fiako, leader of the delegation, Samuel Davies Adjepong, medical officer and William Agbovi, FIFA referee.

The others are David Boafo, Welfare Officer, Seidu Younan, Masseur and Sulley Mohamed assistant coach.

The team, however, left without head coach, Francis Oti Akenten as his team, King Faisal was then engaged in the Confederations Cup competition.

Coach Oti Akenten was subsequently flown to the South African country on Monday.
