JEDDAH ? Mercurial Saudi Arabian midfielder Mohammed Al Shlhoob has apologised to the Saudi Arabia supporters after the three-time Asian champions? ?weak performance? in Monday?s 3-1 friendly defeat to fellow 2006 World Cup qualifiers Ghana.
?We thank the Saudi fans for coming and supporting us and we apologise for this weak performance,? the Jeddah-based Arab news quoted the Al Hilal star as saying.
Continued Al Shlhoob: ?This was a good learning experience for us. Ghana is strong and they have good professionals that play in Europe. This was not the performance we hoped for and we are going to correct the mistakes before the next friendly match.?
