Black Stars defender Jeffery Schlupp gave his chances of grabbing a place in the Leicester team a real impetus as he scored his first ever Premier League goal yesterday in Leicester City’s 2-2 drawn game against Burnley.

Schlupp, who played the entire duration of the game scored for Leicester City as early as the 33rd minute to give his side the lead.

Fellow teammate Riyad Mahrez used his quick feet to confound Scott Arfield and squeeze a ball into the box which Ghana international Schlupp took sweetly, angling into top corner of the net.

But the lead was short-lived as Burnley responded just after five minutes with a goal by Michael Kightly.

A Scott Arfield cross found Lukas Jutkiewicz who knocked the ball down with his head .Kightly swept in to the box to drive the ball past Kasper Schmiechel.

Riyad Mahrez made sure that Leicester City went into the break with their lead intact as he grabbed the second in the 41st minute.

Schlupp was yellow carded in the 77th minute for a foul on Stephen Ward all in their attempt to ran away with all three points, but Burnley had other ideas.

A free kick for Burnley’s Ross Wallace, whipped in at speed, in the fourth minute of stoppage time meant Leicester had to settle for shared honors, much to the disgust of the home team.
