A Combined team of Cape Coast schools drew 2-2 with Abura Shantelle in a friendly football match played at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Monday.
Right from the start, Abura Shantelle took absolute control of the game and registered two rapid goals through midfielder, Samuel Ackon, in the 10th and 15th minutes.
The combined schools resumed the second half strongly and pulled a goal back through centre forward, Eric Walden in the 55th minute. The school children continued to pile pressure on their opponents and it came as no surprise when Francis Mawuli, over lapped to scored the much needed equaliser in the 75th minute.
In another match played at the Siwudu Park, Cape Coast Venomous Vipers played a highly determined game to hold newly promoted Feyenoord to a goalless draw in a friendly match determined over the weekend. Kicking off under the instructions of class one referee, Richard Nyarko, Vipers matched their opponents boot for boot until half time.
The second half saw Feyenoord at their peak. They drew circles round the players of Vipers with their man-to-man passes and made several attempts to score but the able defence of Vipers worked overtime to save the situation.
