Scottish premiership side, Aberdeen, are looking at the possibility of signing Ghanaian striker Victor Lartey.

The 17-year-old product of Datus Soccer Academy in Ghana was at Pittodrie last week attempting to impress the Dons' coaching staff in a closed doors trial match.

Lartey was spotted at this year's Aberdeen International Football Festival where he was named player of the tournament.

Dons Legend and Director of Football Willie Miller said: "We had two lads from Datus in for a few days but Victor is the one who impressed the most."

As reported last week in these pages, the stumbling block would appear to be Lartey's lack of an EU passport.

Miller added: "We are now investigating the possibility of getting a work permit for the lad.

"If we get one, Victor will come to Scotland to give us more time to see if he is up to making the grade in this country."
