Sevilla are set to rekindle their interest in midfielder Sulley Muntari after Inter confirmed the player wished to leave the club and that they would consider offers. The Spanish side had been keeping a close eye on Muntari before Christmas, but talk died down as 2011 approached.
Now Sevilla are ready to rival several Premier League clubs for Muntari’s signature. While the Ghana star is thought to prefer a move to England rather than Spain, Sevilla will still try to convince him that La Liga should indeed be his destination.
Muntari, who has previously played in England with Portsmouth, has struggled for playing time at the San Siro and was linked with a move to Sunderland at the start of January. However, it was widely reported that the player’s wife, a well known model in Ghana, only wanted to live in London, presenting a problem for any proposed move to the north east of England.
The Ghana star is expected to leave Inter before the window closes.
