Norwegian side Rosenborg have rejected Sevilla’s two million Euros offer for Ghanaian midfielder Anthony Annan.

The Spanish side started negotiations for Annan last week as they seek to sign the enforcer in the January transfer window.

Se villa slapped in an offer of 2 million Euros on Wednesday which was flatly turn ed down by Rosenborg.

The Norwegians say they want 4 million Euros for the Ghanaian but there is still the hope that a compromise price can be found.

But French side Marseille are still in the race and they are hoping that Sevilla will fail with their offer which will allow them to also make their offer. Marseille are keen on using the presence of the Ayew brothers in the Marseille to lure Annan to agree to move to France.

Sevilla are looking to turning their season around after difficult first-half of the season.

Los Nervionenses was on a seven-game winless run in all competitions prior to Wednesday’s Copa del Rey win over Malaga, and coach Gregorio Manzano is desperate to bring in some of his own players to the squad in order to reverse their current form.

Marca comments that the former Mallorca boss sees Annan as the ideal addition to his central midfield, with Didier Zokora struggling for consistency this season, and will request funds from president Jose Maria del Nido in order to gain a march on other potential suitors.

Annan, 24, has been watched by a whole host of European clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea and Marseille, but has remained with the Norwegian champions for three seasons.

He also represented Ghana during World Cup 2010 in South Africa, as the Black Stars reached the quarter-final stage.
