A six-month-old baby has died in a fatal accident which involved a Mobile Clinic van belonging to St.Josephs’ Clinic at Kwahu Tafo and a Commercial Vehicle.
The accident occurred on Friday at about 4 pm.
The Nissan Patrol being used as Ambulance with Registration number ER. 735R was rushing a patient in Critical Condition to Atibie Government Hospital but collided head-on with the Hyundai H100 commercial Vehicle with registration number AS 5338Y carrying 12 passengers including three(3) children.
The driver of the Mobile Clinic Van reportedly overtook a taxi while ascending a hill and collided with the oncoming commercial Vehicle which suddenly appeared descending.
The Commercial Vehicle somersaulted killing the six months old baby and injured the passengers onboard who were rushed to the Atibie Government hospital together with the patient who was put in a taxi to the hospital.
Mother of the baby is reported to be in critical condition and has been referred to the Eastern Regional Hospital, Koforidua.
Three occupants in the mobile clinic van suffered minor injuries.
