Abdoulaye Soulama says his services are wanted by a Scottish club, but he does not know the details. The Asante Kotoko first choice 'keeper has been with the Reds for the past eight years and is seasoned at club and country levels.
Now reports from the Kotoko camp say the 33 year is not happy with the way things are being run.
"He has been complaining about the lack of signings of the club and feels Kotoko are not showing the kind of ambition worthy of Premier League champions," a Kotoko insider tells supersport.com.
With his contract running out at the end of this league season, the Stallions' stopper has been talking up his chances of going outside Ghana.
"There’re a couple of interests in me and one of them is an interest from Scotland. The details ain’t quite clear but I know there is an interest from there," he told Asempa FM in Accra.
Having placed second with the Burkina Faso national team at the recent Afcon, his value has shot up especially after helping guide Kotoko to the league title last season.
Soulama, who is reported to also be considering the threat of aging on his chances to land a final bumper paycheck, was also briefly involved in the Champions League with the Reds after he missed one of the legs with Sony Nguema.
There have also been rumours of a possible move to Algeria's JSM Bejaia, with our source in the team saying that "Soulama does not feel like Kotoko will take him to the next level anymore after he has played in Afcon and won the league and played in Africa."
The 'keeper will, for the time being, be key in Kotoko's charge to win the double of the league and FA Cup as the Porcupines restart their campaign this weekend against Dwarfs.
