Spacefon donates ?100 million to kotoko

Scancom Ghana Limited, operators of Spacefon has donated an amount of ?100 million to Asante Kotoko at a ceremony at the Crystal Rose hotel in Kumasi for winning the Kinapharma Premier League,

Making the presentation, Mr. Fouad Chalabi, the Commercial Manager disclosed that the best present that has been handed the company in its seven years of operation in the country has been the league title.

"There couldn’t have been a better birthday present to Spacefon than this," Mr. Chalabi said.

He said the company was always aware that its partnership with Kotoko would be beneficial to the two institutions but strategically decided to wait and observe other companies stutter before joining the fray. He was optimistic that there would be an improved package for Kotoko in its remaining years under the sponsorship agreement.

Other patrons of the ceremony who made cash donations included the wife of the IMC Chairman who presented ?2 million, Yaw Antwi, a supporter who presented ?800,000 and an anonymous well wisher, ?10 million.

The league trophy was presented to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Monday, amidst fanfare, by the IMC, the playing body, the technical team and enthusiastic supporters of the club.
