Sportsnet to Start Producing Footballs Locally

Sportsnet, local representatives for Italian sports kit maker's Lotto, would start the manufacturing of leather balls for soccer, volleyball, handball, soft ball and beach volleyball locally by February, next year.

Mr Dan Asiedu Asari director of Sportsnet told GNA Sports that his company is currently negotiating with a Pakistani company for technical assistance to enable the venture to start.

Mr Asari said the venture would also provide employment for the youth.

He said by the start of a mini trade fair for locally produced sports equipment next February samples of his products would be ready for the market.

Asked whether the product can compete favourably with what is currently on the market Mr Asari said there would not be any difference between the imported ones and those produced locally as far as quality is concerned.
