LIma(Peru), Sept. 11 -- Ghana's national soccer U-17 team, the Starlets, arrived Sunday at the city of Trujillo, north of Lima, for its participation in the under-17 world cup, eying a third cup, said delegate Isaac Asiamah.
Ghana won the 1991 and 1997 world cups and now seeks its third cup in the competition due to start on Friday in five Peruvian cities.
In their debut, Ghana will meet local Peru on September 16 at Manische Stadium of Trujillo, capital of La Libertad department, some 500 meters north of Lima.
Asiamah said Ghana trained in Brazil, where they obtained good results versus teams like Fluminense, which they defeated 4-1.
