Accra, June 7, GNA - The National Under-17 team, the Black Starlets will on Tuesday, June 15, begin camping ahead of their qualifying game against their Tunisian counterparts in November.
The camping of the team is scheduled for the Winneba Sports College where 56 players are to be selected across the country to engage in a "justify your inclusion" exercise to enable the technical men pick the best among them.
The 56 players according to a statement signed by Mr Kweku Ampim Darko, Deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) were selected by the Management Committee of the Black Starlets in consultation with the head coach, David Duncan.
Among the invited players are Fredrick Sarpong, Addae Boateng, Abubakari Alhasan, Foster Vinyo, Godfred Appiah from the Eastern Region with Adu Kofi, Osei Gyamfi, Abdul Samed Oppong, Enoch Andow and Ebenezer Tetteh coming from the Ashanti Region.
Those invited from the Greater Accra Region are Emmanuel Baffour, Lawrence Otoo, Nuru Yusif and Razak Salifu, whilst Salis Abubakari, Alhassan Abdulai, Ayini Abuba and Seidu Atibua are drawn from the Upper West Region.
From the Brong Ahafo Region are Asare Kawdjo Ransford, Henry Acheampong and Gideon Asante while Hanan Sadique and Mundasir Abdulai are from the Northern Region with Aziz Acquah and Emmanuel Obeng coming from the Central Region and Abubakar Fuseini and Ibrahim Issaka from the Western Region.
The Management team together with the coach have also extended invitation to some players from three soccer academies in the country. The invited players from the academies are Richard Osafo, Jonathan Quartey, Paapa Eshun, Charles Kweku Dua, Amoah Mensah Edwin, George Aidins, Awudu Osman, Adams Tahiru Baba, Inkoom Samuel, Ebenezer Nikoi, Salam Mohammed, Wisdom Aberko Quartey and Seth Sai Obodai from the Winneba Academy.
And from the camp of the Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy are Fred Gbedife, George Abisinu, Rahman Abdul Bilah, Louis Morken, Godfred Ofosu and Isaac Bortey while from the Missales Academy are Rabiw Mohamed, Sulley Musa Muntari and Evans Koranteng.
From the AshantiGold Soccer Academy are David Telfer, Opoku Agyeman and Mubarak Wakaso with four members of the academicals made up of Nana Bonsu and Moro Igala from the Ashanti Region and William Acheampong and Hassan Adiss from the Greater Accra Region.
The invited players are expected to arrive at Winneba at 5:00 pm with their toiletries.
