Lome, March 17, GNA - Ghana's Black Stars coach, Claude Le Roy has emphasized on the need for the defence of the Black Starlets to learn to reorganize well during games.
The coach who was a witness to both group games played so far by the Starlets at the ongoing African U-17 Championship in Togo underscores the importance of the boys to reshuffle well in defence. Le Roy told the GNA Sports in Lome that 93I think the team is very good and my only suggestion is that they learn to do a lot more regrouping in defence at all times.
"Even though most of the players abound in skills, I realised from the two games that the few times their opponents struck, their organization at the back lacked a few things which if not corrected will trouble them against stronger opponents". The Starlets conceded a goal against Burkina Faso but kept a clean sheet against the Eritreans.
The Frenchman placed the team among the best in the competition and believes their chances of winning the trophy is very huge. He said the team's entire output in the two games easily depicts the level of potential that exits among the players. Le Roy mentioned players like Ransford Osei, Ishmael Yartey and Enoch Adu among those with exceptional qualities that must present an array of hope to the country.
The Starlets have won both games played so far and trail Nigeria on inferior goal difference.
The team has so far qualified to the next World Championship slated for the Republic of South Korea later this year. The Starlets will play their last group game against the Eaglets of Nigeria in a game the coach believes presents equal opportunities. "Both Ghana and Nigeria have shown they are very strong and I see that game as the final before the finals".
