Accra, Dec. 17, GNA - Ratomir Dujkovic, the newly signed on Black Stars coach has explained that he left his last job with Rwanda because the South African country, did NOT have the resources to renew his contract.
The coach's explanation came against the backdrop that some foreign coaches employed by Ghana deserted the job midstream.
Notable among them were Yugoslav Milan Zivadinovic and Portuguese Mariano Barreto.
Coach Dujkovic who was answering questions from the media on the day he was outdoored by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) said the FA of the war-ravaged country did not have adequate budgetary support to renew his appointment despite his successes in that country.
He said Rwanda was a poor country and the FA depended hugely on government for the employment of a coach but said the government was not in a position to see to the renewal of his contract after its expiration.
Coach Dujkovic further explained that though he was on record to have supervised Rwanda to her first nations cup appearance, it was difficult to repeat the same feat again hence the need to look for other challenges.
He said the need to face new challenges motivated him to apply for the Ghanaian job and was confident of guiding the nation to greater heights.
According to the coach, he would begin his team building exercise in January, with an assemblage of local players who have distinguished themselves from "the competitive local league," to enable him to know the calibre of players, he would be working with.
Coach Ratomir said, he would also have series of meetings with the foreign based players who would be on holidays in the Ghana to map out the way forward, after which he would find ways of blending the two groups of players together to prosecute the national cause.
