Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah believes in the quality of young Hearts of Oak striker Kenneth Okoro, and has asked the technical team to give him more chance to prove himself.

Okoro, a player who was spotted by Hearts of Oak’s former coach David Duncan during the team’s justifier exercise for the junior side Auroras, is yet to live up to expectation following a series of injuries that has plagued his career.

He has since recovered and has had some outings for the Phobians, but this according to Appiah, is not enough because to him, Okoro has more in him than he is giving to the team.

“He is a great kid with so much potential and I feel he is not getting the need out from the team. I believe that if he is given more time in his team, he will give more to the team than he is giving now,” Appiah mentioned to sportscrusader.com.

Appiah acknowledged that the selection for players for matches depended solely on the technical team, and also advised the player to give his all in training to get into the Hearts team for the coming season.

“Inasmuch as I feel he is not given more playing time, I believe he will also have to give the coaches cause to be a constant feature in the team.”

Okoro is one of the few Auroras players who managed to graduate into the senior team and was very instrumental in the team’s 2-0 away win over New Edubiase in week one of the Premier League.
