Ghana international centre-back Rashid Sumaila insists his best is yet to come for Al Qadsia in Kuwait after some impressive displays which have seen him deliver a series of fine displays in the ongoing top flight.

Sumaila, who is on a season-long loan from South African side Mamelodi Sundowns, has netted two goals for his side, with his latest being a classy finish against Al-Sulaibikhat SC on Saturday night.

"I am happy with my form so far here,” Sumaila told Goal, “I think this is just the beginning. My best will come as the league progresses and will always contribute my best for the club.

"The perception is that the league here is not strong, but I can tell you for a fact that perception is wrong,” he continued.

“This league is one of the best in Asia and we have players from all over the world playing here. Also, there are lots of international players here."

Sumaila went on to outline his ambitions for the season: "I am enjoying my time here, the people are friendly and I have a very good coach and great technical team who always guide me.

“Hopefully we can retain the league trophy.”

Sumaila, who was part of Ghana's 2014 World Cup squad, scored with a superb drive in the 65th minute after the Al Sulaibikhat defenders failed to clear a free kick whipped into their box.

The 22-year-old was signed on loan by Al Qadsia last month from the South African side after he was not registered in Sundowns’ squad for the top flight.

Formed at Ebusua Dwarfs, Sumaila played twice for Asante Kotoko on loan in the Ghana Premier League.
