Suncity radio organises football clinic for boys

A football clinic has been held in Sunyani to introduce children aged between eight and fifteen(8-15) to modern soccer techniques. The one day training session was organized by Suncity Radio under the auspices of its Director Ransford Antwi.

The event was attended by over 600 children and were taken through the training by 12 trainers which included a former Black Stars captain Kwasi Owusu, others included Dan Owusu, Nana Awuah and Ntow Gyan, Anthony Awuah, Fuseini Suleiman, all former soccer stars and BA United's young Coach, Stephen Ahenkan.

The over four hour training session saw the boys going through ball control, passing, heading and dribbling skills. All the participating boys were given free breakfast while after the training the instructors were given presents sponsored by MTN.

Among the teeming lovers of football present was Black Stars midfielder Afriyie Acquah. His presence was to motivate the young footballers to take their training serious. He encouraged the kids to take their training serious and to show discipline at all times.He pledged his support for the project and thanked Suncity Radio for the initiative.

According to some of the organizers, the training session will be repeated at regular intervals to sustain the interest of the young footballers.

A fun match between Afriyie Acquah XI and BA XI was also played to climax the occasion. Some of the children expressed their views on the occasion and commended Suncity Radio for providing them the opportunity to learn how to play football the right way.
