Mamelodi Sundowns might have signed close to 11 new players during the current transfer window period, but it seems like they are not done as yet.
The Tshwane giants have reportedly approached Hearts of Oak for the services of their star striker Mahatma Otoo.
Otoo is also wanted by Congolese giants TP Mazembe, who reportedly have to beat Sundowns’ R7 million ($800, 000) bid for the player.
Apparently, Sundowns were given the permission to talk to Otoo when the Black Stars were in South Africa two weeks ago, but nothing was finalised, Goal understands.
Sundowns will fly to Ghana as they continue with their pre-season training, and they have confirmed that they will play two friendly games against the Phobians and Asante Kotoko.
However, it is not clear whether the deal to sign Otoo will be finalised after the friendly games or not, but the 22-year-old forward is likely to leave Hearts of Oak, despite renewing his contract with the Oak Tree a few weeks ago.
Otoo finished the 2012-13 Ghana Premier League season top of the goalscoring charts with 20 goals.
The Brazilians are expected to offload more than 14 players ahead of the new season to open space for the new signings.
