The new management of Sunyani-based premier club, Brong Ahafo United, has stripped the Sunyanimanhene, Nana Bosoma Aso Nkranwre of his post as the Life Patron of the club.

This follows a newconstitution drawn at the congress of the club held in Sunyani last week.

With this new development, the Sunyanimanhene loses his hold on the club and can only be a member but not have a decisive say when it comes to making decisions for the club.

A source close to the new management said the post of life patron, assumed by the Sunyanimanhene was illegal because he was not formally appointed by any congress or any body.

According to the source, the life patron was not invited to the recent congress because most of the officials believed that he was the cause of the controversies which has bedevilled the club in recent times.

Mr George Arthur, the new chief executive of the club in an interview with Graphic Sports confirmed the story and added that the "Omanhene has no power at all in the club as far as the new constitution is concerned."

He emphasised that with the new development, there would be no appointing and dissolution of management teams without recourse to the appropriate procedures, neither would there be the need to wait for Nana's approval before embarking on any activities in the club.

Mr Arthur said United's new slogan, "Ya sesamu", meaning we've made changes, is to motivate the management team to be more effective and help the club regain its former glory.

He further revealed that his administration is taking steps to recruit new players to strengthen the team while the incompetent players already in the team would be put on the transfer market.

All these, he explained is to ensure that the team isstrengthened and well prepared for the 2003 premier league.

Asked how he felt about his new position, the former national team player said he felt elated because it has always been his dream to run B.A United, because he believes he has what it takes to lead the club to the world of successes.

"With adequate facilities, the club can move to great heights and I hope to put those things in place to re-write the history of the Apostles of Power Soccer," he intimated.

He alleged that the club has been in tatters as a result of mismanagement and lack of commitment on the part of the previous administration. This, he said, slowed down the development of the club.

He therefore pledged on behalf of his team, to put up their best to raise the club to an enviable level.
