TUC congratulates the Black Stars

Accra, July 2, GNA - The Executive Board of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) on Sunday congratulated the Black Stars for their excellent performance exhibited at the FIFA World Cup tournament. A statement signed by Mr. Kwasi Adu-Amankwa, Secretary General of the TUC said as World Cup first timers, the Black Stars with their dazzling performance have carved a new football image for Ghana. " The performance of the Black Stars, which saw them defeating highly rated teams and making it to the final 16 best teams at the tournament have made Ghana and indeed the whole of Africa proud." The statement said the TUC and all working people in Ghana were happy with the performance of the Black Stars and saluted their technical team and all those who contributed towards this achievement, one that represented the highest feat in Ghana's soccer history. It said the level to which the Black Stars had taken Ghana soccer must be sustained and every effort should be made to develop football at all levels.
