Tarkwa United thump Dunkwa United in Zonal Middle League

Accra, Aug. 3, GNA - Tarkwa United boosted their premiership ambitions with a 4-0 win over Dunkwa United in their Zone Two Middle League clash on Wednesday at the Accra Sports Stadium. Two goals in each half ensured Tarkwa United their maiden win of the four-club championship.

Tarkwa United started on a bright note but had to wait till the 27th minute to take the lead through Emmanuel Ephraim. Eight minutes on, forward Kelly Wisdom doubled the lead to give his side a two-goal lead at half time.

In the second half, Dunkwa United handled by former Asante Kotoko captain Kalilu Dramani raised their game but failed when it mattered most 96 hitting the back of the net.

Five minutes into the half, Baah Boateng scored the third goal by connecting from a corner.

In the dying embers of the game, Tarkwa United capitalized on a blunder by Dunkwa United defender Emmanuel Nketia to score the fourth goal through John Baako, who slammed home from close range. In other match held at the Tema Stadium, Wassaman FC beat Deportivo 3-= 1. The top placed club after the round-robin matches will qualify for the elite division.
