The 32 year old has been forced to end his career after breaking his leg almost 2 years ago.
He has had five operations since then. He was told by the doctor before the last operation in May that it would be tough to pursue the career since it will take months to rehabilitate while a complete healing is not 100 % sure.
Alex has scored 64 goals for FC. St Gallen in 5 years (2002-07).
Alex wants to continue his career in coaching. He is already in talks with FC Frauenfeld about a coaching engagement with one of the youth teams.
