Kumasi, May 30, GNA - A former Secretary of the Conference of the Methodist Church, Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr E. H. Brew Riverson has urged members of the senior national team, the Black Stars to go all out in the FIFA World Cup fiesta depending on God alone.
He said as "they go into the competition, God would play and move them to victory", stressing that "God will not let us down. He will crown us with victory if we disassociate ourselves from other powers". This was stated in a statement the reverend issued to the GNA Sports in Kumasi at the weekend.
The Rt. Rev. Dr Riverson advised all those who involved with the preparations and plans of the team to remember God and put their faith in Him since He owns the country and the team.
He called on handlers and the players not to associate themselves with any other power, saying "as we pray for his support, we should remember that he will not share his glory with anyone else". The Conference Secretary reminded all Ghanaians to handle the team's victories with joy and decency. "We also need to learn to be good losers after we have tried and done our very best". 30 May 10
