"This may be the time" - Paha

Owvein, Delta State, Nov 10, GNA - The head coach of Ghana's Black Queens, Isaac Paha says this may be the time for Ghana to wrestle power from Nigeria when they meet in the grand finale of the African Women Championship (AWC) at the Warri City Stadium on Saturday. The coach told the GNA Sports in Owvien that 93everyone says Nigeria is invincible but what they don't know is that this might be the time for that change.

=93What they all forget is that Ghana used to dominate Nigeria when it comes to men football in times past but all that has changed and is a point worth noting. For me, time may be catching up with the Falcons=94. Coach Paha reckons he has no idea about the free-scoring Nigerians but adds that the Queens have what it takes to survive the Falcons scare when they both meet on Saturday.

The Nigerians have scored ten goals more than the Queens who have found the net seven times so far and are favoured ahead of the duel. Coach Paha told the GNA Sports that "I don't have any strategy in mind at the moment but I'm convinced we will be able to know how to handle them by the first five minutes".

The Nigerians who have consistently followed the Ghanaians throughout the competition already consider their height as a huge advantage over the Queens, an assertion the coach disputes.

"Height does not play football. On the contrary, I think we will have an advantage because we will naturally be swifter because of our height and size".

The coach said the team will adapt well to ensure they squeeze out a fine result that will send Ghanaians smiling.

This is the third time both countries are meeting at this stage. The last time the two teams played in the finals was at the same venue in 2002 when the Falcons won the duel 2-0.

The Queens have so far laboured for results in their games one after the other but the coach insists no matter how bad they play, getting the results remain the most important thing they are focusing on.
