Three Ghanaians were named in the list of 11 players selected as the continents best by the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) for 2011.

Andre Dede Ayew, who failed to win the enviable Africa Footballer of the Year title, was among the four midfielders selected together with Kevin Prince Boateng, who announced his resignations from the national team, last month.

Also in the list is Harrison Afful, who plies his trade with Esperance of Tunisia and played a key role in the Champions league success of the Tunisian side.

Afful, scored the winner that granted the Tunisians the CAF Champions League Trophy, last month and was widely tipped to join the Black Stars to the Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Gabon/Equatorial Guinea next year but was snubbed by head coach Goran Stevanovic.

Below is the full list of the final 11-man squad selected by CAF as the continents finest this year.

Goalkeeper: Samir Aboud (Libya)

Defenders: Harrison Afful (Ghana), Banana Yaya (Cameroon), Ayoub Elkhiqi (Morocco), Taye Taiwo (Nigeria)

Midfielder: Kevin Prince Boateng (Ghana), Yaya Toure (Cote d’Ivoire), Seydou Keita (Mali), Andre Ayew (Ghana)
