Accra, Oct 24, GNA - The Board of Directors of Accra Hearts of Oak has set up a three member committee to interview interested applicants for the position of the Chief Executive Officer of the Club. A statement issued and signed by E. N Commodore-Mensah,, Board Chairman of the Club copied to GNA Sports said the interview will be conducted within the next two weeks and the successful applicant would be expected to assume duty immediately.
The statement said the move follows the resignation of Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Club, Vincent Sowah Odotei after intense pressure from supporters of the Club.
Commodore-Mensah said the ccting Chief Executive informed the Board verbally of his decision to relinquish the position Thursday, October 23 and has subsequently withdrawn his application for the job. It said the Board will henceforth handle all matters that fall within the powers of the Chief Executive until the appointment of a substantive Chief Executive.
The Board said it is therefore apologizing to the general public and the supporters and other well wishers for the unfortunate situation that occurred at the premises of the Club's secretariat. It said steps have been taken to investigate the issue in order to take appropriate sanctions against anybody found to have engaged in any unlawful incidents. The Board has therefore urged all supporters to remain calm in the face of the recent troubles and misunderstandings.
