A SUNYANI Community Tribunal chaired by Mr Charles Adjei Wilson has sentenced two ticket racketeers to 18 months imprisonment each for possessing forged documents.

The convicts? Appiah James and Nana Kwame ? were apprehended for selling fake tickets to soccer fans during the recent premier league match between B.A. United and Accra Hearts of Oak at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

Giving the facts of the case, Sgt. Lennox Aidoo told the court that the management of B.A. United had a tip-off that some persons were selling fake tickets during the match.

He said when James Appiah from Kumasi was confronted, he mentioned Nana Kwame, a worker with B.A. Printing Press at Sunyani, as the source.

According to the prosecutor, when Nana Kwame was later arrested and interrogated, he explained that he gave the tickets to Appiah to be given to the management of B.A. United.

Passing judgement, the tribunal chairman described the explanation as an untenable since the act has been going on for sometime now.
