Former Bundesliga goal king Tony Yeboah will be among renowned Ghanaian stars who will feature in Gerald Asamoah’s testimonial match on 14 November.
Other players like Derek Boateng, Otto Addo and Tony Baffoe are expected to play in match at the Veltins Arena.
Germany’s FIFA World Cup winning captain Philipp Lahm and Kevin Kuranyi have all confirmed their participation.
The testimonial match will be between Schalke 04 XI and Asa XI with the ex-Germany international playing 45 minutes for each side.
Asamoah said: “It is going to be an amazing event, emotional as well because playing my last game for a club I have loved since I was a kid is crazy but I am looking forward to it,” he said.
“You spend half of your life on the pitch, you love the game so if all of that is going to end it is quite emotional and I think you have to show some feelings.
“If you have the people who will be there to say goodbye to you, I think you cannot just sit and say you will not cry. It is an inexplicable feeling.
“I think if you’re on the pitch with me on that day you will know how it feels to say goodbye to something you love. So I think I will cry a little bit.”
