TUNIS, Dec 19 (Reuters) - Tunisia have called up uncapped midfielder Farid Ben Khalfallah to their preliminary squad for next month's African Nations Cup finals in Ghana.
Coach Roger Lemerre announced a 27-man squad on Wednesday, including the French-born Ben Khallafah and eight players from recently crowned African champions Etoile Sahel.
Ben Khalfallah players for French Ligue 2 club Angers. The other uncapped player in the squad, which will be reduced to 23 ahead of the tournament, is third choice goalkeeper Adel Nefzi.
Tunisia, who won the Nations Cup in 2004, are in Group D with Angola, Senegal and South Africa. The Nations Cup kicks off on Jan. 20.
