Defending league champions, Accra Hearts of Oak look set to avert pending crisis within the club after Friday’s detention of former CEO Harry Zakkour and the firing of the Board Chairman’s special advisor, Kojo Twum-Boafo.

The club’s problems were unleashed after two stakeholders, Messers Kojo Twum-Boafo and Neil Armstrong reported Harry Zakkour for allegedly threatening them.

Harry has been freed now after writing his statement on Thursday. He denied the accusation and pledged to support the club as best as he can.

But bad news hit Kojo Twum-Boafo as he has been fired from the club as the Board Chairman’s special advisor with immediate effect.

The Board of Directors have appointed the former CEO, Harry Zakkour to act as special advisor to the present management team, which has Thomas Okine as the acting CEO.

Within the past weeks, Accra Hearts of Oak, has been beset with problems that emanated from power struggle amongst the club’s young men who are all eyeing the CEO position.

The position is to be advertised soon. Names that have come up for Harry’s post are Kojo Twum-Boafo, Neil Armstrong, FiiFi Forson and Obeng Busia.

For now, the stance taken by Twum-Boafo and Neil Armstrong against, Harry, who is still a Director of the club looks to have dashed their hopes of occupying the hot seat considering the support Harry has from the club’s support base.

Meanwhile, the resignation of the charismatic CEO, has seriously affected the club plans for the season especially in their recruitment drive.

No one seem to be working for the release of the players from other clubs, a job that Harry performed excellently.
