Ambidextrous Ghana defender Daniel Amartey made a winning debut for Leicester City on Saturday as the Foxes pipped a stubborn Norwich City side to open a 5-point gap at the top. Amartey was replaced in the 78th minute while wing-half Jeffrey Schlupp marked his return from injury by coming off the bench to play.

Andre Ayew was booked in the 58th minute and played the entire minutes of the game for Swansea City who threw away a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1 against Tottenham Hotspur.

Defender Baba Rahman was replaced before the start of the second-half as Chelsea fought from a goal down to beat Southampton 2-1 at the St Mary's Park.

Forward Jordan Ayew was suspended watched from the screens as his Stoke City narrowly beat his Aston Villa side 2-1.

Hiram Boateng could not make the Crystal Palace squad for their trip to West Brom which brought a 3-2 defeat.

Marcel Appiah played an attacking role for NEC Nijmegen who suffered a 2-0 away loss at Excelsior.

Thomas Agyepong was introduced in the 85th minute by FC Twente who cruised to a 2-0 win over FC Groningen.

Rodney Antwi failed to make the FC Utrecht squad for their 2-1 home reverse against Feyenoord.

Derrick Luckassen was introduced on the hour mark by AZ Alkmaar who lost 4-1 at Ajax Amsterdam on Sunday.

Raymond Gyasi could not make the Roda JC squad for their 5-0 away win over Heracles Almelo.

Both Erixon Danso and Raymond Gyasi were among the scorers for Emmen who lost 6-5 comprehensively against Almere City.

Johnathan Opoku Agyemang scored the fourth goal for VVV Venlo who won 4-3 against NAC Breda. Manchester City loanee Divine Naah played for Breda until he was replaced in the second-half.

GERMANY

Gideon Jung played in defensive midfield role for Hamburg SV who were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Ingolstad.

Daniel Opare was out of the Augsburg side that drew 2-2 with Borussia Monchengladbach on Sunday.

In the Bundesliga II, Manfred Osei-Kwadwo failed to make the Kaiserslautern team that lost 2-0 at Freiburg.

Both Joseph Baffo and Philemon Ofosu-Ayeh played for Eintracht Braunschweig who drew 0-0 with FSV Frankfurt.

Davidson Drobo-Ampem could not make the St Pauli squad for their 2-0 win over Duisburg.

Defender Kwame Kusi played for Fortuna Cologne when they lost 4-0 at Dynamo Dresden.

Okyere Wriedt scored both goals for Luneburger Hansa who won 2-0 against BSV Rehden.

SPAIN

Wakaso Mubarak returned from suspension to play full throttle for Las Palmas who travelled away to defeat Eibar 1-0 in the La Liga on Friday.

Inaki Williams was suspended and missed Athletic Bilbao's 3-0 away win over Valencia on Sunday.

Thomas Partey could not pass the fitness test to make the Atletico Madrid squad for their derby win over Real Madrid on Saturday.

Bernard Mensah was axed from the Getafe squad when they slipped to a 1-0 home loss against Celta di Vigo.

On-loan Chelsea winger Christian Atsu was unused by Malaga who managed to hold Real Sociedad to a pulsating 1-1 stalemate.

In the Segunda Division, Ghana goalkeeper Razak Brimah manned the post for Cordoba in their 1-0 home loss against Osasuna.

Elsewhere in the Segunda B, Clifford Aboagye played the entire minutes of the game for Granada B when they won 3-0 against Jumilla. Jafar Ibrahim and Richard Boateng did not play for Granada B.

Kevin-Prince Boateng came off the AC Milan bench in the 69th minute to play in the Rossoneri's 1-0 home win against Torino. Midfielder Afriyie Acquah played full throttle for Torino.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu scored in the 31st minute to engineer a win for Udinese who defeated Hellas Verona 2-0 to end their winless run.

Raman Chibsah was unused by Frosinone who were defeated 2-0 at Sampdoria.

Godfred Donsah lasted the entire duration of the game for Bologna who held Palermo to a 0-0 draw.

Kwadwo Asamoah was on the Juventus bench for their thrilling tie with Inter Milan on Sunday night.

In the Serie B, Amidu Salifu came off the Brescia bench to play in their 2-0 home triumph over Como.

Masahudu Alhassan was unused by Perugia who lost 2-1 at Entella.

In the Bundesliga, David Atanga was not in the Red Bull Salzburg team that won 4-1 against Austria Wien.

Reagy Ofosu was replaced on the hour mark by Grodig who suffered their second successive defeat after losing 3-2 at Rapid Wien.

Former Ghana U20 invitee Raphael Dwamena scored the consolation goal for Liefering who were beaten 2-1 by visiting St Polten in the Bundesliga II. 2015 Ghana U20 goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi was booked in the second-half and played the entire game for Liefering. Defender Isaac Vorsah was not in the Liefering squad for the game.

BELGIUM

Nana Akwasi Asare was absent as his KAA Gent side cruised to a 3-1 home win over ten-man Lokeren. Denis Odoi played at left-back for Lokeren.

Anderlecht and Standard Liege battled to a 3-3 draw in the Pro League on Sunday. Ghana winger Frank Acheampong assisted the opening goal for Anderlecht and played the entire minutes of the game while Ghana youth forward Benjamin Tetteh came off the Liege bench in the 76th minute to play in the game.

Samuel Asamoah was unused by OH Leuven who won 4-1 against KV Oostende.

Bennard Kumordzi came off the Genk bench to play in their 3-2 win over Club Brugge on Sunday.

Former New Edubiase United midfielder Asiedu Attobrah lost his place in the Kortrijk side that won 2-0 at KV Mechelen.

Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Mitch Apau was yellow carded in the 90th minute and played full throttle for Westerlo when they shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with Mouscron Peruwelz.

FRANCE

Striker Majeed Waris scored a 3rd minute goal for Lorient when the Oranges won 1-0 at Troyes on Saturday evening. The striker has now scored three goals in his last two games for Lorient.

Dennis Appiah played in lateral defence for Caen who travelled to beat St Etienne 2-1 on Sunday.

Yaw Yeboah could not make the Lille squad for their 3-0 hammering at Montpellier.

Grejohn Kyei still remains injured watched his Stade Reims side defeat Bordeaux 4-1 on home turf on Saturday.

Ghana youth defender Emmanuel Ntim warmed the Valenciennes bench in their 2-2 draw with Sochaux in the Ligue 2.

PORTUGAL

Osei Barnes lost his place in the Pacos Ferreira team when Os Castores suffered a 3-0 battering at Nacional.

Defender Richard Ofori could not make the Academica Coinbra squad when they lost 1-0 at Maritimo.

Ernest Ohemeng and Emmanuel Boateng both came off the bench to play for Moreirense when they lost 2-1 against Tondela.

Sulley Muniru came off the bench in the second-half to play for Steaue Bucuresti in their 1-1 draw with CSMS Iasi.

Sulley Muntari was booked in the 87th minute and played the entire minutes of the game for Al Ittihad in their 1-0 win at Al Hilal on Saturday.

SCOTLAND

Prince Buaben lasted 62 minutes for Hearts who won 1-0 against Kilmarnock.

Abdul Osman captained Partick Thistle to a 3-1 away loss at Motherwell.

SERBIA

Samuel Owusu played in midfield for Surdulica when they beat Cukaricki 1-0. There was no Regan Obeng and Lee Addy in the Cukaricki squad for the game.

Francis Kyeremeh played 82 minutes for Jagodina when they won 3-0 against OFK Beograd.

SOUTH AFRICA

Box-to-box midfielder Edwin Gyimah played for Orlando Pirates in their 1-0 win over Bloem Celtic on Saturday in the PSL.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, defender Lawrence Lartey played for Ajax Cape Town when they lost 2-0 against Angolan side Sagrada and exited the competition.

Ebenezer Ofori was unused AIK Solna in their 6-0 drubbing of Tenhults.

Enock Adu Kofi was not in the Malmo FF team that won 4-1 against in the Cup game against Angelholms FF.

DENMARK

FC Copenhagen managed a slim 2-1 win over Esbjerg in the Superliga. Danny Amankwaa was not in the Copenhagen team but Danish-born Kevin Mensah warmed the Esbjerg bench.

GREECE

Michael Essien was restored to the Panathinaikos starting line-up and lasted 75 minutes in their 1-0 loss at AEK.

RUSSIA

Rabiu Mohammed played in midfield for Kuban Krasnodar who lost 1-0 at Zenith St Petersberg.

Jonathan Mensah debuted for Anzhi on Friday in their friendly win over Norwegian side Anzhi.

TURKEY

Defender John Boye and Samuel Inkoom clashed in the Turkish top-flight on Sunday when Sivasspor and Antalyaspor shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw.

In the second-tier league, Adana Demirspor also drew 1-1 with Alanyaspor. Adana finished the game with ten men. Defender Joseph Attamah and midfielder Ibrahim Moro played for Demirspor.

USA

Gershon Koffie played in midfield for New England Revolution when they pipped Columbus Crew 1-0. Black Stars defender Harrison Afful played the full 90 minutes for Crew at the Kino North Stadium in Arizona.

POLAND

Aziz Tetteh played in defensive midfield for Lech Poznan who slipped to a 2-0 home loss against Jagiellonia.
