Vipers pip Real Tarkwa United

Cape Coast, Oct 31, GNA - Cape Coast Venomous Vipers maintained leadership of the Zone 2B Division One League table with 11 points when they beat Real Tarkwa United (RTU) 1-0 in their match played at the Robert Mensah stadium in Cape Coast.

After a goalless first half, Vipers resumed the second half full of fire and went ahead to score the winning goal in the 49th minute through their midfielder Peter Aidoo.

The goal came about when outside left, Frank Mensah who after collecting a pass rounded up two defenders and sent in a diagonal pass to Aidoo who made no mistake by heading home the ball to beat the RTU keeper.

In the dying minutes of the game, RTU made frantic efforts to equalize by controlling the midfield and attacking from all angles but try as they did they could not find the net till the final whistle. Other results of other league matches were Great Odupong drew 0-0 against Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs while Sekondi Eleven Wise beat SAMARTEX 2-0. 31 Oct. 06.
