Vipers punish Schalke 04

Cape Coast, Aug. 7, GNA - A 42nd-minute free kick, expertly taken by midfielder Emmanuel Adukpo, fetched Cape Coast Venomous Vipers the three maximum points at the expense of Odonase Schalke O4 in their outstanding Division One League match played at Robert Mensah Sports Stadium on Saturday.

In a match of equals in which, both teams excelled during the proceedings, Vipers scored what turned out to be the match winner against the run of play when a hard pressed defender of Schalke O4 fouled Adukpo a few metres away from the vital area; which was converted by Adukpo.

Schalke O4 countered strongly and their attackers comprising Kofi Baah, Joe Okyere and Mohammed Polo made frantic efforts to equalize but Vipers defence worked overtime to foil their attempts. At Agona Swedru, All Blacks beat Samreboi Samartex 2-0 to move to the top of Zone 2B league table on seven points.
