Volta Region stormed to Cup success at the Airtel U15 football tournaments -southern sector held in cape coast.
The team sees off competitions from Eastern, Western and Central regions to lift the Cup following a solitary penalty shootout success over Central region in the grand finale at the Robert-Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast after 1-1 score line within regulation time which was later won on penalty 3-1 by Volta.
There was double enchantment for the team as they swept all the individual awards in the juvenile tournament. For this, Volta region has the sole tickets to represent the southern sector of the country as they entangle Northern region in the National Final Tournament to be played in Accra from the 3rd of July 2012.
The winner took home medals for players and officials as well as Airtel souvenirs.
The technical body the team will present the trophy won to the Volta regional Minister, Henry Ford Kamel later this week.
