Ho, July 27, GNA - Ho Voradep Football Club down with ten men managed to hold much-fancied visiting Nania FC of Accra to a goal-less drawn game in their Zone 3B of the Division One League match at the Ho Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The two teams demonstrated great skills but it was Nania who caused the first scare when Ebenezer Nartey beat an offside trap and located three other colleagues in Vora's goal area but the keeper, Abubakar Sadik was alert to prevent the visitors from capitalizing on the situation.

In the 20th minute, Francis Seidu of Nania FC connected Selorm Segbefia's free kick into the net but the effort was ruled off-side by Class One Referee, Paul Aggrey.

Nania FC was awarded a penalty two minutes later after Kumeko Godwin of Vora brought down Nania's captain, Kofi Bekoe in their goal area but Vora's keeper, Sadik punched the ball over the cross bar to the relieve of the numerous vociferous home fans of Vora.

Vora with a player out still managed to hold the visitors at bay as they defended gsllantly and hardly caused any scare to the Nania defense at the early stages of the match.

The closest Vora came to scoring was in the 30th minute of the first half when Okoe Mensah lobbed a long ball into Nania's goal area that saw a struggle between Nania's keeper and Vora's Lamptey Joshua who headed the ball over the keeper into the net but the referee ruled it a foul.

Nania came back from recess with a more determined game plan but all their efforts to score were thwarted by keeper Sadik. Vora also nearly came to score towards the end of the game but their striker, Nutsugah Emmanuel failed to connect a neat opportunity as he fumbled in front of goal.

Vora's Kumeko Godwin and Dekua Christian were booked earlier for hard tackling and delaying tactics respectively. In a post match interview, Abedi Ayew Pele, founder and Head Coach of Nania FC told the GNA Sports that, "it was a fair game but that the day wasn't our day. We had the chances but we couldn't score". Head Coach of Voradep, Mr Wallace on the other hand said with the performance of his boys as a start, the team was now on course and ready for any team in subsequent matches.
