Black Starlets coach, Laryea Kingston, has disclosed that his team is eagerly awaiting the commencement of the WAFU Zone B U-17 tournament.

Ghana's U-17 team, who are in Group A, will face Côte d'Ivoire in their opening game before matching up against Benin a few days later.

Ahead of the tournament, which kicks off on May 15, Laryea Kingston has expressed his team's readiness for their first match.

"I think the players are at a good level now, and all they need is motivation ahead of the tournament," he said.

"We've played 14 games, scored 46 times, and conceded just 12. We've been beaten just once, by Russia, so I believe in the boys, and I can't wait for the competition to start."

The WAFU Zone B U-17 serves as a qualifier for the AFCON U-17 tournament, and Ghana's Black Starlets will be hoping to secure one of the two slots available by making it to the final.
