Ghana international Mubarak Wakaso has signed a three-year deal with Greek giants Panathinaikos after passing a rigorous medical GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
The 26-year-old went through a two-hour medical in Athens before penning a three-year deal.
The move brings an end to his time with Rubin Kazan where he spent most of his time on loan.
Last season Wakaso played a total of 22 league games for Spanish side Las Palmas and scored a goal in La Liga.
The left-footed midfielder who is renowned for his committed performances and spirited delivery on the pitch finally moves to a club where he will be fighting to win laurels.
On the international stage Wakaso has been with the Black Stars since 2013 and was a member of the team which played in the final of the AFCON albeit they lost to the Ivory Coast on penalties.
With experience of having played for Espanyol, Elche, Villarreal and Celtic, the Ghanaian is expected to boost Panathinaikos as they look to reclaim their glory days both on the domestic scene and in Europe.
