Wakaso suffers injury in La Liga game

Ghana have been dealt a huge blow with news of injury to versatile midfielder Wakaso Mubarak.

The 25-year-old was taken off after just 15 minutes into the start of the game at the Estadio de Gran Canaria.

Ghana coach Avram Grant will be sweating on the fitness of the workaholic midfielder and his availability for the 2017 AFCON qualifier in Accra in three weeks’ time.

Wakaso clashed with a Getafe midfielder and could not recover to continue the game for Quique Setien's side.

Los Amarillos medical team will perform a scan on the midfielder to assess the extent of damage done to the midfielder.

Grant is expected to name his squad for Ghana's 2017 AFCON qualifier later this month.
