Guinean coach, Michel Dussuyer says his team deserved the lucky tag ahead of their last eight meeting with Ghana in Malabo on Sunday.

Guinea reached the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals at the expense of Mali, after the drawing of lots to decide Ghana's opponent for the next phase of the competition.

Dussuyer said, "When you work hard, you deserve all the luck."

The Syli National qualified for the tournament behind Ghana despite playing all their home matches away from home due to the deadly Ebola pandemic which is prevalent in Guinea.

The coach said of the Ghana team. "Playing against Ghana during the qualifiers was tough. They have a great team, and we created a lot of problems for them. We hope to do the same.

Meanwhile, Guinean creative captain, Ibrahima Troare has described the match as a big one for his country.

"Tomorrow is a big day for all Guineans. I hope they dance with us after the match tomorrow.

"Tomorrow is not about revenge. It is a game we play for our country; to concentrate and to do something for ourselves."

He described Ghana as possessing a strong midfield that could reduce the outcome of the match to creativity and strength in the middle.

"They (Ghana) have great players in the midfield area. I know they are missing Kwadwo Asamoah (injured), but they have Andre Ayew, Agyemang Badu and all.

" We are also strong in the midfield and for some, that will be key to win the game." Guinea drew one and lost another against the Black Stars during the qualifiers.
