Black Satellites' captain, Owusu Bempah has said the team played their hearts out despite losing their semi-final match 0-2 to Nigeria at African Youth Championship (AYC).
Bempah said after the match that "We fought our hearts out. Unfortunately, we did our best but it was not enough. We planned topping our group but unfortunately it did not happen and we finished second to face Nigeria.
"We all know Nigeria is a very good side and today we played well but we did not take our chances."
Ghana enjoyed an opening advantage, visiting the Nigerian defence three times within the first four minutes with Clifford Aboagye masterminding well through the middle.
However, Nigeria went into the lead in the 22 minutes through Obinna Nwobodo who beat goalkeeper Michael Sai at the far post with a header from a second corner in succession that left the Ghana defence vulnerable.
Nigeria against the run of play doubled the advantage from the spot after Patrick Asmah caught advancing Muhammed Musa in the box.
Looking ahead, Bempah said "We hope to prepare very well for the World Cup and do better by showcasing our talent to the world."
Ghana has won two and lost two times in four matches at the competition with their last scheduled for Sunday when they chase bronze.
