J.E Sarpong, head coach of Ebusua Dwarfs claims his team underrated the abilities of Dreams Football Club and they were duly punished.
Johnson Owusu grabbed the only goal of the game to silence the vociferous spectators who filled the Robert Mensah stadium to witness the encounter against the premier league debutants.
And the former Black Meteors coach says overconfidence caused their defeat.
“It is the first game I have lost and that’s football. When expectations are high, things are likely to go against you,” the ex-Liberty Professionals coach told the media after the game.
“We were over-confident and underrated the strength of Dreams FC because they are newcomers and we have been in the system for long and because we won division one, the players thought all was rosy,” he added.
Ebusua Dwarfs will travel to Obuasi on Match Week Two to take on New Edubiase United who suffered a slim defeat at the Accra sports stadium against Hearts of Oak.
